🤯 Inflation rolls in higher & slow start to the year
 

It was a slow start to the month with the markets moving sideways.The S&P 500 manage to close +1.76% with NVDA hitting all time highs leading the gains & MSFT overtaking AAPL as the most valuable stock in the world.

The Canadian market rallied with the TSX gaining +0.05% just another snooze fest. The drawdown was led by the banks especially TD.

🥵 Inflation Nation

This months US 🇺🇸 inflation came in at 3.4%. Last month was 3.1%. A hotter inflation created volatile markets on Thursday. Inflation came in higher due to higher transportation and shelter costs.

Execs and board members at SpaceX, Tesla, and other companies run by Elon Musk are concerned about the business impacts of Musk’s persistent drug use, according to the WSJ. Musk’s reported use of drugs, including ketamine, cocaine, LSD, and ecstasy, at parties could imperil SpaceX’s lucrative contracts with NASA. Musk’s lawyer responded that the billionaire has never failed a drug test at SpaceX.

Musk also said in a tweet that Tesla is more then just a car company.

This months US 🇺🇸 inflation came in at 3.4%. Last month was 3.1%. Peak inflation was 9.1%. The lowest reading we got was 3.0% in July 2023.
